If there’s one food festival in Southern Spain that locals genuinely go wild for, this is it!!! Every spring, the laid-back fishing village of Zahara de los Atunes transforms into a buzzing celebration of its most famous catch: Bluefin tuna. For one glorious week, the streets fill with food lovers, live music, cold drinks, and some of the best tapas you’ll eat all year.

🌊 A Festival with Deep Roots 🌊

The Ruta del Atún began as a way to celebrate Zahara’s centuries-old connection to tuna fishing, especially the ancient almadraba technique, a sustainable method dating back to Phoenician times. What started as a local food trail has grown into a full-blown festival, attracting chefs, creatives, and visitors from all over Spain. Each year, nearly 50 bars and restaurants compete to create the most inventive tuna tapa, with prizes awarded at the end of the day 🐟 🐠 🐡 🎣🏆

However, this particular Random Fun Adventure focuses on the Afternoon Session From 13:00pm - 16:00pm, soaking up the sunshine, food, and festival atmosphere during the day time 🤣🥳😁That way families can join us too, and those that prefer an early night, on a Sunday! If the evening session is what you’re after, that’s totally fine — this one may not be for you 💜 ALSO - FRIDAY & SATURDAY IS SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BUSIER! SO SUNDAY IS PERFECT!

🚽 Please, please, pleaaaaase use the bathroom before boarding, as the coach does not have toilet facilities onboard.

As it’s a relatively short(ish) trip, we’ll be avoiding bathroom stops along the way - mainly because finding a service station that can accommodate 100 coach passengers would be a logistical nightmare 😅😅😅

If you think this may be difficult, I’d strongly recommend boarding at one of our later pick-up points, such as La Línea or San Roque.

Then we'll be arriving in Zahara de los Atunes around 12:30pm

The BP Garage will also be our collection point for the journey home, so please make sure you leave town with enough time to arrive back by 17:50pm

As with all Random Fun Adventures Now - If you are unable to attend an event, a refund can be issued if there are More Than 7 Working Days between your cancellation and the event itself - Minus a €10.00pp Cancellation Fee.
